Fabulous East Cobb Designer Home Makeover

Modern East Cobb Home Makeover!

We love this giant home renovation we did in Green Ridge! It was an incredible collaboration between our building expertise and the client’s design prowess. The homeowner is an interior designer, Design & Creations, so she showed us her vision, and then we worked together to completely transform this newly purchased home built in the 90s. She found Atlanta Curb Appeal through a recommendation from a neighbor.

We worked on a tight deadline because we wanted to complete the project before her family moved in. This project included updates to almost the entire house, including a complete overhaul of the back deck, a reconstructed fireplace, and an updated living room. We completely reworked the kitchen with changes in the floor plan, framing, cabinets, appliances, and quartz countertops.

We also replaced the tile in the sunroom, painted the upstairs, and refinished the hardwoods. Because we were on a limited timetable, we worked on the every aspect of the project at the same time, and we were able to complete this entire project in just two months!

One of our favorite features is the cedar beams in the living room. These are constructed using cedar boxes, which are much easier to work with and more affordable than solid beams. We also love the simple change of painting the window trim, which has a dramatic effect without installing completely new windows.

We also loved working with this client. Our strengths played well together to rework a home in a beautiful and efficient manner.

She is happy with the finished product and how quickly we were able to complete the project. In fact, we are now discussing a basement renovation! We have also begun referring our clients to each other. A big endorsement and a fantastic final product for this beautiful “new” home!

“We enjoyed working w Avi and his team. They were great at communicating and open for feedback.”

East Cobb Kitchen & Mudroom With New Features!

This East Cobb family near Lassiter High School enjoyed a kitchen, mudroom, and laundry room renovation just in time for the holidays! There are some great features to this home upgrade.

Atlanta Curb Appeal was hired by these homeowners for a kitchen upgrade. They knew they could trust us because we did a job for them years ago, so they asked us back for this home remodel. We started with a design meeting; the homeowner had a specific look in mind, and she showed us pictures of their idea. We helped them round out the practicalities of the design and figure out the best layout for their existing structure.

There are so many features in this remodel that we love. We replaced a walk-in pantry with large pantry cabinets that have pull-outs. This gave them more space to work with in other parts of the kitchen. They also requested a coffee corner, which is an increasingly popular request in new kitchen remodels. We also custom-fitted a large, unique oven that was worked into the cabinetry. We also love the self-contained cabinets in the mudroom; it’s an easy way to keep an entryway looking tidy. There is now a place for everything!

The homeowner was specific in her request of neutral colors and exposed wood on the floor and the island. We did a lot of research to find the perfect wood to custom build the island. Then, we made the cabinets to fit their design requests. This is the beauty of a custom home remodel! Whatever your dream home has in it, Atlanta Curb Appeal can make it happen!

Upgrades were not limited to these three rooms. In addition to the laundry, mudroom, and kitchen, we also sanded and stained the floors in the entire main level, and we reconstructed the stair threads and risers and added a new railing.

The renovation only took 7 weeks, and the family was so grateful and happy with the results!

Amazing After the Flood East Cobb Renovation

A complete home makeover transformed this house in the Chimney Springs neighborhood of East Cobb. Atlanta Curb Appeal renovated the master bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, floors, stairs, and plumbing.

This renovation all began when the family had some pipes flood from the attic all the way through the home, and, once they began to redesign the space, they decided to add the kitchen and laundry room to the project. This was the second renovation we have completed in this home. Atlanta Curb Appeal renovated the basement years ago, so they knew they could trust our company with this huge project!

The family wanted an open floor plan, so we removed some long walls on the main level. We also restructured the bay window and moved the door from the garage to give us more kitchen walls to work with.

We also added a new island to the kitchen and new quartz countertops throughout. We love the personal touches in this kitchen, like the cute coffee counter space in the hallway.

The laundry room was another exciting project. We custom-installed the butcher block folding table and coated it with polyurethane. This became the new entrance to the garage, and new storage was added with the side-by-side cabinets. In the bathroom, we relocated all the plumbing to make space for a bigger vanity and double sinks. The completely new all-tile shower is a stunner!

In addition to the rooms, we reconstructed the stairs and railings in the home, opening up the sides to make the space feel larger. We also refinished and repaired damaged flooring throughout the home. Since many homes in East Cobb have suffered from copper pinhole leaks, we also replaced all the copper pipes in the home to the much-sturdier product PEX, because we wanted to ensure that this kind of home disaster does not happen again.

Because the family had been dealing with insurance companies, it was an arduous process for them. Still, we were able to complete the giant project in just three months. They are so happy to be finished… and they absolutely love the new open floor plan!

Stunner! Chimney Springs East Cobb Kitchen Renovation in White!

This completely transformed kitchen in the Chimney Springs neighborhood in East Cobb is a stunner! It features quartz countertops, custom tile, and an oversized beverage station. It is a big change from the smaller, dated kitchen this home had before.

Atlanta Curb Appeal helped the family combine a small dining room with the kitchen to create one, big kitchen space. In order to make the area so open, we moved a load-bearing wall and relocated the plumbing, electric, and HVAC.

Our biggest hurdle was the exhaust pipe we found in the wall behind the pantry. We rerouted the pipe that moved air from the basement to the roof, and we asked our HVAC and plumbing experts to change the house system in the basement.

One of our favorite updates to this kitchen was the larger windows. Because we added so much space to the room, there was more wall and island space for cabinets, so we thought windows would make the room feel bright and airy. Our favorite is the glass picture window, which has no dividers or abstractions, so you have a clear view of the outside.

A feature we like to recommend when a family is installing a large island in the kitchen is the drawer microwave. It is less obtrusive than traditional microwaves and helps save space for storage in other parts of the kitchen.

Another cool detail we love: This client ordered a unique backsplash tile they fell in love with. We were willing to wait for it to arrive to complete the kitchen. Even though it arrived a month after the remodel was complete, we went back and installed it for them after the fact.

Something the kitchen already had going for it was the hardwood floors. They are nice and look great with the remodel. Leaving the floors was a great cost- and time-saving option for this big renovation.

We were able to complete this project in just five weeks. The clients were happy: They gave us a great online review and a big hug!

Gorgeous! Modern Kitchen Makeover in White!

Atlanta Curb Appeal finished this beautiful kitchen and bathroom renovation in record time. The family purchased the home in Edgemere Cove in East Cobb and wanted to make some updates before they moved in. We were on a tight schedule and able to complete a full kitchen and three bathrooms in just FIVE WEEKS!

This family found us through some contractor research, and since they were moving locally, they noticed that our kids used to go to school together!  It is one of the great benefits of living and working in the same community.

This home was built in 1995. It was in great shape but was ready for some modernization. The family decided to upgrade the kitchen with new white shaker cabinets, quartz countertops, and a herringbone subway tile backsplash. We also added a honey-brown cedar accent piece to break up the white in the kitchen. It is amazing how small details like this can change the whole feel of the kitchen.

The ceilings are very high in the kitchen, so we also recommended they add a set of display cabinets with LED lighting at the top. The upgraded Sub-zero appliances were already in the old kitchen so we were able to include them in the overall design.

The original island in the center of the kitchen was an odd shape. When we removed it, we discovered that the dishwasher had been leaking and causing damage to the subfloor. After repairs, we designed a bigger island with a brand-new beautiful blue color option from our cabinet supplier.

The homeowners had some ideas for their bathrooms from Pinterest. We were able to create these clean lines and pops of color with gorgeous tile designs. We love all the options for tile that are available; We can really get creative in these small spaces!

Despite the busy schedules of the homeowners, we worked hard to complete this renovation quickly. They are doctors that work odd hours, so we tried to stay in touch between shifts and completed multiple areas of the house at the same time.

They were so very happy with the results and how smooth the process was for them!

Stunning! White & Gold Kitchen Makeover in Sandy Springs!

After a bad experience with a different contractor, Atlanta Curb Appeal went above and beyond in this kitchen renovation in Sandy Springs! The new kitchen is beautifully open with lots of new cabinet space, clean lines, and a great flow.

These homeowners originally hired a different company to renovate their kitchen. This contractor took the deposit and then did not show up until almost a year later. When they did show up, they did one day of demolition and then disappeared again.

Fed up and without a functional kitchen, the clients searched for a new contractor. They found us through an internet search and a recommendation from a previous client. We met with them immediately. Even though they had already designed the remodel, we presented a new design that we thought would better meet their needs. The clients loved it and fortunately, we were able to get started on the project right away.

See our Full Gallery of Kitchen Remodeling Here!

We worked every day on the kitchen and wet bar until the project was complete.

There are some really cool features to this kitchen, both design- and construction-related. We love the herringbone-style subway tile, which breaks up the lines of the cabinets and gives it a modern feel. Also, the white hood vent cover blends well with the white shaker cabinets and the brushed gold fixtures and hardware. Atlanta Curb Appeal added new ceiling beams in the kitchen, too. We also removed the old pantry walls and reworked the plumbing and HVAC to open up the space. When people walk in now, the first thing they comment on is how expansive the room feels with the new large island in the middle and cabinets that reach all the way to the ceiling.

After the frustration the homeowners experienced with the previous contractor, they were worried and skeptical, but Atlanta Curb Appeal was happy to regain their confidence and create a beautiful space in a timely manner. We wanted everything to go smoothly for them under our care – and it did! They are happy with the result… so happy that they are asking for a quote for more work on their house!

Wow! 90 Year Old East Cobb House Makeover!

90-Year-Old East Cobb House Makeover!

This beautiful 90-year-old house on Bishop Lake has lots of character, but it needed some more functionality for the owner, so he hired Atlanta Curb Appeal to renovate the kitchen and fix some problems that come with aging homes. This is our second renovation for this house; we updated the bathroom last year.

This homeowner is a talented yoga instructor and artist. He has a unique style, so we enjoyed collaborating with his vision for the project. The first big hurdle was removing a gigantic and very heavy old stone fireplace from the living area. The individual stones were huge and went from the crawl space all the way to the roof line. Removal was quite a job! This allowed us, though, to open up the space and add an island in the kitchen. It also cleared the view so you can actually see the lake from the entrance of the house!

EastCobbKitchenMakeover

The next big challenge is a common one in older homes: the walls weren’t straight, and there are always surprises when you take down a wall or remove a floor. We leveled out the floors, which were crooked because they settled with time. Next, of course, we replaced the old flooring with updated materials. Then, we fixed all of the doors that could not be opened or closed because the house had shifted over time.

We then reframed the kitchen wall to incorporate a bigger window and then painted the whole main level and custom-built a pantry cabinet to maximize space. The homeowner has an excellent eye for detail and design. His choice of black and white cabinets gives a striking look that just fits in this interesting and historic home.

The homeowner is so happy with the open space and updated look of the renovation, and he said he was pleased with our communication and professionalism during the project, which we completed in just 7 weeks!

Say Goodbye 90’s Kitchen East Cobb!

Say Goodbye 90’s Kitchen in East Cobb!

This East Hampton kitchen renovation is OUT with the 90’s vibe and IN with a gorgeous, modern kitchen.

BEFORE:

Like most of our clients, this homeowner found Atlanta Curb Appeal by referral. A neighbor recommended us through the neighborhood group chat, and the family could not be happier with the results or how fast the project was completed! From start to finish, this project took Just. Six. Weeks.

The homeowners, new empty-nesters, thought it was high time for an upgrade to the kitchen. With the kids out of the house, they designed it to fit their new needs. The old kitchen had wallpaper, can lights, and a kitchen desk. Atlanta Curb Appeal removed the desk and ripped off the wallpaper. Then, we added classic tile and wafer LED lights for a bright, airy feel.

New amenities include a two-drawer beverage fridge, a trash compactor, and new storage in the gigantic island. The island has room for cabinets on both sides, plus an overhang for extra seating in the kitchen. The color of the island is called dark shaker grey, and it contrasts nicely with the walls and hardware.  Amazingly, the 48-inch range also provides space for a double oven underneath. The corner pantry was removed to enlarge the kitchen and instead, we added pantry cabinets with pull-out drawers.

Our client selected Hoodsly for the beautiful new hood vent. It is a great company for quality, customer service, and quick turnaround. We did have to find a way to vent the hood all the way to an outside wall, which was challenging with the high ceilings and framing style, but as you can see from the photos, it was worth it.

The wallpaper was also tricky!  We had to smooth and sand the walls after it was removed. This added some time to the project, but, we were still able to complete the job quickly. The homeowners were happy that so much progress was made each day and that the project ended on time and within budget.

We are delighted that they love the final result!

Stunning! East Cobb Kitchen and Mudroom Makeover

“On time, on budget, and exceeded our expectations!” That’s what this family said after Atlanta Curb Appeal renovated their kitchen. Interestingly, they interviewed 18 contractors before even deciding on ACA!

EastCobbKitchenContractor

Their East Cobb home was built in the 1980s and was a true original; it had never been renovated. Visually, the home felt small since the lines of sight were blocked by too many walls. Obviously, the existing floor plan needed some modernization.

Before Kitchen Makeover

Kitchen demolition began when ACA removed the walls and doorways, expanded the walkways, and moved out one exterior wall to expand and open up the kitchen. Next, we moved the laundry room upstairs to create a proper mudroom. Finally, we relocated the garage entry door and stairs door to free up wall space in the kitchen.

One aspect of this East Cobb kitchen that was very important to the family was ventilation. They like to cook with lots of aromatics and spices, so they wanted to make sure that they could effectively vent out the kitchen smells. For that reason, ACA installed a commercial-grade hood vent over the range. To create this vented system, the builders connected the hood vent to a direct exterior vent supply they built in the garage.

The biggest challenges to the renovation were moving out the original exterior wall and removing the door to the stairs. ACA consulted with their in-house engineer to make sure that the structure would be sound with the changes. The result was a great flow to the kitchen, wider walkways, and a seamless look throughout the space.

Other new additions included an office space with French doors. The client works from home and needed a quiet, designated spot.  ACA built a beautiful custom desk right into the new area. The floors are a beautiful red oak, stained in a Minwax color called Provincial, and we applied three coats of polyurethane to protect the wood throughout the space.

The homeowners are thrilled with the final results!

For their next project, these clients have decided to renovate their second level, but have decided not to interview 18 contractors this time!

The clear choice for them is Atlanta Curb Appeal.

French Blue Oven is the Star of this Roswell Kitchen Remodel

Stunning Kitchen Remodel in Roswell

We absolutely love the final outcome of this beautiful kitchen remodel in Roswell. Her style is a blend of Southern and Grandmillenial. This client is a return customer with two kids and a love for cooking and baking, so when we renovated her master bathroom last year, she told us her kitchen would be next.

The original kitchen was an odd shape, and the island was difficult to manage, with toddlers running around they felt cut off from guests when entertaining. The space was not effectively being utilized. This client worked with a designer. They had an ideal layout for the new kitchen, but it would take some wall and beam removal. ACA worked with the new designer to reconfigure the structure and open up the space significantly.

The showstopper of the whole kitchen is the blue, antique-style range that was ordered directly from France! A LaCornue Cornufé Albertine 90. The oven was a story in itself considering It was delayed by several months getting here from France because of the Suez Canal Blockage. However the homeowner shared it, “It was worth the wait!”.

The homeowner is a baker and of the three ovens, that was the one that was needed for her special recipes. Another “can’t do without” was her pull-out table for her gorgeous Turquoise Kitchen Aid Standing Mixer, an honored wedding gift from the client’s late father-in-law. The homeowner shared, “I love to entertain and host our community group and family gatherings for holidays, so I wanted as much oven and stove real estate as possible while not losing space for my thrifted china, serving pieces, and pantry items.”

The entire remodel was nearly complete before the specially-ordered oven was delivered. The enormous island in the middle of the kitchen was another dream for the owner. We used a full slab of Carrara Valentine Quartz. It’s beautiful.

The hardwood floors are original to the space, but we moved the walls and cut the concrete slab for additional plumbing to the island. In order to make it look seamless, we sanded and re-stained the whole main level of the home.

An additional feature that is becoming increasingly popular in kitchen remodels is a prep kitchen or hidden bar area. This gives the owner additional storage for appliances, kitchen utensils, and other supplies. In this case, the owner is also using it as a drink and coffee bar.

We removed a small bathroom and utilized some space from their garage to create this space. The shelving is made from butcher block wood with an oil finish, and we think the colors in this room complement the color scheme in the kitchen beautifully. The unique French Cremone Bolts for the doors were specially ordered to compliment this space.

The owners are very pleased with the outcome and how it completely changes the feel of the house.  “We felt like we went from cookie-cutter home to a more custom upscale feel. We’re really thankful for Avi and Andy and their team.”
